Hi all, especially those I've conversed with...as you know my son has battled with addiction for a number if years....we enabled him for a very long time before the light bulb went on and we withdrew everything..including support...it was his choice- work with us to get clean and have us in his life cheering him on to success, or not! Eventually he made the decision to change how he was "surviving".... With our support, he has found himself a job, had 1 relapse, but got straight back to healing himself, and the biggest test so far was over the weekend...we could see the signs he wanted a drink/ drugs, but he stuck it out and didn't.....I can't tell you how relieved, happy, proud, grateful and thankful I was....I can see it's hard for him, but he has a reason to get up in the morning.....his work are so pleased with him, and he is really proving that he can do it! Sometimes I'm afraid to enjoy his sobriety incase I jinx things....but for now, I am grateful he is doing well...and oh so proud of the boy I love with all my heart....long may it continue, and if he relapses, then we can help him deal with it, and continue his journey to a healthy, happy life.....hugs and love to all those effected by addiction xxxx
