The Gary Seaman Award 2017
15 Aug 2017
We are now accepting nominations for the Gary Seaman Award 2017: an award we present to outstanding practitioners (professional or volunteer) who have made a real difference. The award is given out at our annual Carol Concert.
Gary Seaman provided years of dedicated work to support carers and those affected by substance misuse, in the London Borough of Lewisham and beyond. He sadly died in June 2013, aged just 53. His partner, Michael, and two sons, Alex and Luca, chose Adfam as the charity to honour Gary’s memory; by establishing this annual award to recognise the outstanding work of a practitioner supporting families affected by substance use.
If you know of someone who has made all the difference to a family struggling to deal with drug and alcohol use, this award is a chance for that outstanding practitioner (professional or volunteer) to be recognised, celebrated and awarded, for making life better for a family through the support they’ve provided.
The winner will receive a prize of £150, plus a trip to Adfam’s Carol Concert on 6 December 2017, with travel and accommodation paid for by us. The Carol Concert will be held at St. Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London. The closing date for nominations is 31 October 2017.
To nominate a practitioner (professional or volunteer), please download and complete this form, and email it to us. Please do share the nomination form with anyone who may be interested. If you have any questions about the Carol Concert or the awards, please email us.
