£267 million to boost local drug and alcohol treatment

Adfam welcomes news from the Department of Health and Social Care that a further £267 million will be made available to local authorities across England to improve drug and alcohol treatment. This extra funding will improve access to, and quality of, drug and alcohol treatment services across the country.

It’s vital that support is also available to family members, including children affected by parental substance misuse. Support for family members improves the chances of their loved one’s recovery, and is also important for families in their own right. There is huge value to be gained by local areas in using some of the additional funds towards support for children and families.
