Are you affected by the drug or alcohol use, or gambling of a loved one? How has this impacted your experience at home during COVID-19? With the UK being placed into a national lockdown again, we know that families and friends affected by a loved one’s drug, alcohol or gambling problem may be finding things particularly hard. We encourage you to join others across the UK who are affected by these issues and get involved with our creative challenge.

Share your story creatively by writing a poem, letter, diary entry, or by drawing or painting a picture. You could even create something 3D like an origami decoration for your home.

Writing, or being creative in other ways, can be great for your mental health. Not only does it help you relax and give you a break from time on screens, it can help you to process any thoughts and feelings that may be bottled up inside. This is particularly helpful at the moment, when feelings of anxiety, stress or depression may be higher than usual due to social isolation measures.

Give it a go, and share your work with us on social media if you would like to! We would love to see it! Make sure you use the hashtag #lockdownstories @adfamUK
