Online training - Supporting families raising a child with FASD

Adfam has developed a programme of free training for professionals to increase understanding of the lived experience of families supporting a child with FASD.

The training programme consists of a four-module course intended to equip practitioners with the skills and knowledge to identify and respond to the support needs of families of children with FASD:

  • Module 1: Challenges faced by families raising a child with FASD
  • Module 2: Person-centred active listening
  • Module 3: Birth, Adoptive and Foster families
  • Module 4: Adults with FASD

Each module is free to participate in and lasts two and a half hours. In this latest round we are running each module three times, at the following dates and times:

  • Monday 1st February 2021, 9.30am – 12 noon: Module 1
  • Monday 1st February 2021, 1.00 – 3.30pm: Module 2
  • Monday 8th February 2021, 9.30am – 12 noon: Module 3
  • Monday 8th February 2021, 1.00 – 3.30pm Module 4

  • Monday 15th February 2021, 9.30am – 12 noon: Module 1
  • Monday 15th February 2021, 1.00 – 3.30pm: Module 2
  • Monday 22nd February 2021, 9.30am – 12 noon: Module 3
  • Monday 22nd February 2021, 1.00 – 3.30pm: Module 4

  • Monday 1st March 2021, 9.30am - 12 noon: Module 1
  • Monday 1st March 2021, 1.00 - 3.30pm: Module 2
  • Wednesday 3rd March 2021, 9.30am - 12 noon: Module 3
  • Wednesday 3rd March 2021, 1.00 - 3.30pm: Module 4

This free training is made available via the Children of Alcohol Dependent Parents (CADeP) programme funded by the Department of Health and Social Care and the Department for Work and Pensions.
