We are now accepting entries for our annual Family Voices Competition. This is a poetry and creative writing competition for friends and family members who have lived through someone else’s drug, alcohol or gambling problem to express their thoughts and feelings in a creative and constructive way. While it is often difficult to talk about this subject, family members can find it helpful and therapeutic to write about it.
Entries are encouraged to be of a positive nature, and despite the considerable challenges families often face with their loved ones, the piece of writing should endeavour to reflect positively on the nature of their relationship.
All entries must be received by 30 November 2020 - winners will be notified by 4th December 2020.
The winning entry will be read out by a celebrity guest speaker at Adfam’s Virtual Festive Celebration on 9th December 2020.
There is also a grand prize of £150 for the winner and prizes of £100 each for the two runners up, whose entries will also be read out by a celebrity speaker. All three prize winners will be invited to attend the event to accept their prize.
What to enter: An original piece of writing or a poem of up to 500 words
