Gary Seaman Award 2020

We are now accepting nominations for the Gary Seaman Award 2020: an annual award we present to an outstanding practitioner or volunteer who has made a real difference supporting family members affected by drugs, alcohol or gambling.

Gary Seaman provided years of dedicated work to support carers and those affected by substance misuse, in the London Borough of Lewisham and beyond. He sadly died in June 2013, aged just 53. His partner, Michael, and two sons, Alex and Luca, chose Adfam as the charity to honour Gary’s memory; by establishing this annual award to recognise the outstanding work of a practitioner supporting families affected by substance use.

Read about last year’s winner.

If you know of someone who has made all the difference to a family struggling to deal with their loved one’s drug, alcohol or gambling problem, this award is a chance for that outstanding practitioner or volunteer to be recognised, celebrated and awarded, for making life better for a family through the support they’ve provided.

The winner will receive a prize of £150, which will be presented to them at Adfam’s Virtual Festive Celebration on 9th December 2020.

All entries must be received by 30 November 2020 - winners will be notified by 4th December 2020.

To nominate a practitioner or volunteer, please download and complete this form, and send it to admin@adfam.org.uk. Please do share the nomination form with anyone who may be interested. If you have any questions about the Carol Concert or the awards, please email us.
