New 9 film series - Understanding Addiction

Understanding Addiction is a new 9 film series on addiction produced for TrueTube, an online platform hosting free educational films and materials for KS3/4 pupils for use in schools.

This series was produced in collaboration with The Romani Foundation, a charity set up in memory of Jordan Romani who, sadly passed away 4 years ago today after taking his own life aged just 27 following years of addiction. The charity raises awareness of addiction to children and young people in schools and colleges.

Each film shares a personal story on different types of addiction focuses on a different person and different type of addiction and impact: heroin, prescription drugs, alcohol, having an alcoholic parent, cannabis, steroids, gambling and the law.

Jo Huey, a member of Adfam's Lived Experience Group (LEAG), shared her own personal experience as part of the film series, about living with her Dad's alcohol dependency. You can watch Jo's film, Understanding Addiction: My Alcoholic Dad, below and via this link
