Gary Seaman Award 2021

We are now accepting nominations for the Gary Seaman Award 2021. An annual award presented to an outstanding practitioner, or volunteer, who has made a real difference supporting family members affected by drugs, alcohol or gambling.

Gary Seaman provided years of dedicated work to support carers, and those affected by substance misuse in the London Borough of Lewisham and beyond. He sadly died in June 2013, aged just 53. His partner Michael and two sons Alex and Luca have chosen Adfam as the charity they would like to honour Gary’s memory and have established this annual award to recognise the outstanding work of a practitioner supporting families affected by substance use.

If you know of someone who has made all the difference to a family struggling to deal with their loved one’s drug, alcohol or gambling problem, this award is a chance for that outstanding practitioner or volunteer to be recognised. It gives us an opportunity to celebrate and award them for making life better for a family through the support they’ve provided.

The winner will receive a prize of £150 which will be presented to them at the lunchtime virtual festive celebration the week after entries close (exact date and time tbc).

All entries must be received by 12pm on the 1st of December - winners will be notified by the 3rd of December.

To nominate a practitioner or volunteer please download and complete this form, and send it to admin@adfam.org.uk. Please let us know in your entry email if you are happy to give permission for your entry to be shared on our website and social media.
