Revision of statutory safeguarding guidance: Adfam response

Adfam's submission to the Department for Education's consultation on the revision of statutory safeguarding guidance concentrates on the role of drug and alcohol treatment agencies in effective local responses to safeguarding and the need to support children affected by their parents' drug use or drinking. Adfam argues that parental substance use needs to be better recognised as a key issue in overall responses to safeguarding, and that it should receive greater emphasis in statutory guidance and local action.
