Iain Duncan Smith's Green Paper on Criminal Justice and Addiction has been released. This will inform Coalition policy relating do drugs (and drug treatment), welfare and criminal justice. With 'family breakdown' identified as a key contributing factor to drug addiction, this paper could also impact on the work of family support services, especially those working with vulnerable families.
The Secretary of State for Health has also released Equity and Excellence: liberating the NHS. This may result in huge changes to the way health services are commissioned - possibly impacting on local family support services which receive funding from PCTs.
These will be discussed in more detail in the next policy briefing, so don't forget to sign up.
