Adfam consultation series announced

As we are all aware we are in an environment of transition and spending cuts that are impacting on all areas of public service delivery. The Coalition has outlined its priority to ‘investigate a new approach to helping families with multiple problems’ and announced the development of the Childhood and Families Taskforce. Within this context Adfam would like to consult with you to highlight the good work that is being done around the country working with families affected by drugs and alcohol. We are also keen to consider how in a time of spending reductions, partnerships will be able to meet the needs of families affected by drugs and alcohol using existing services or resources.

Adfam will, therefore, be hosting five consultations across the country using the Adfam Virtual Family as a method to explore these issues. The consultation will ask you to work with a ‘virtual family’ and consider their process and support needs as would be in reality, drawing on your experiences and expertise to support all family members to achieve improved outcomes. We hope that this will be an interactive learning environment that will stimulate some interesting and challenging issues.

The Adfam Consultations will  all be from 12:30pm – 4pm in the following locations:-

7th October – Taunton
8th October – London
14th October – Newcastle
15th October – Leeds
19th October – Birmingham

Following the consultations Adfam will develop some guidance on best practice identified by your input.

If you would like to attend one of our consultations or would like to know more please email Justin Mulcahy or call 020 7553 7640.
