Hi shift you’re not alone always remember that, there is this forum for a start and all of us going thru similar things to yourself some of us have quit, some of us have relapsed, some of us are working out how to quit so many people who can offer so much advice. I would tho very much recommend that you tell someone close to you about the scale of the problem, me telling my wife was probably the best decisions for 2 reasons, 1 she is there to support me and help me thru and 2 she understands what I’m going thru to a certain extent so she is patient with me. IMO cold turkey is the best and most straight forward way to go, tapering is dangerous unless someone else is controlling it for you where as for me (just my opinion) cold turkey gets it done and dusted in about a week (physical withdrawal) just imagine if you stopped now ? By next weekend your body will be almost back to normal, just make sure you take in lots of water, eat fruit and veg things that are easy for your body to break down, take multi vitamins, use ibuprofen for the aches and hot baths omg hot baths are the best ! I’m currently going into day 8 and my body is just about normal I’m a little uncomfortable and still some RLS but excercise is key and helps so much with both the physical and also the mental side which may or may not come afterwards. I hope you manage to get clean all the best you can do this !!

Also unlikely sorry to hear about your accident and consequent relapse I hope you manage again to get clean, all the best.
