Chasb my story is a mirror image of yours my friend gave up the booze 14 years ago and took up codine to replace it, sometimes I wonder what one is worse, when to great lengths to hide my addiction from everyone until eventually the amount I was taking was doing little for me and I was in a constant state of withdrawals and a heart beat away from ending it all, I told my doctor everything and after a few visits he offered my a clinic we’re i could take a herion subsistence as a alternative and then come of that in about six month, but I had to be free from codine for 24 hours before I could start it. I never thought it possible to last 24 hours but with the help of some prescribed diazepam and sleeping pills I managed it, so went to the clinic, and the doctor gave the run down on what was to happen, but I just thought I am just getting addicted to another drug, so have postponed the new drug till Thursday, and see how I feel, I am as I type this 35 hour codine free I feel pleased with myself the dioreah is almost stopped and the withdrawals are not as bad as I had imagined, this is great forum, this codine problem is a fucking eckademic it’s a scourge of our society and although I take responsibility for putting these pills in my mouth what our doctors thinking giving repeat proscriptions for 10 year hang you head in shame !
