Hi BT1978,

Thankyou for your help, we were engaged and the relationship had moved very fast, we moved in together weeks after dating really and we met when he has just been refused from uni and he had not really deablt with his problem and I guess I didn’t really see the problem until we were attached.

Ive now ended things, as I felt I needed to stick to my guns when I gave him his last chance last year.

Although it was brutal doing it and one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, it seems it have worked, accepting he has a real problem and what’s its done not only to him but to me also and is for the first time seeking real help, and has organised counciling. I have ended it for good, as it was also effecting my own mental health and I have my own issues to deal with. He has now moved back to his parents and they are helping him.

I also discovered after telling my parents everything that they had been worrying about me, because he had told my mum loads of stuff when he was on it that I didn’t know and I had been keeping it a secret, which I have learnt to now be more open. I know this is the right thing and I do think now he sees actions have consequences and that he will get better and Ihope he does and can find someone in his future when he is well and learns to love himself.

Thank you
