Heya, I am a codiene addict, I have been for about 5 years now, on about 4/5 full boxes of co-codamol a day (extracted) I used to be addicted to tramadol but then used codiene to switch and could never come off, I have tried numerous times with the best success getting to about 100 hours free doing cold turkey but then just can’t carry on without that hit.

I also have a great job I have been in for 8years and 2 amazing kids with an understanding wife, she knew about the addiction but I lied on one of the cold turkey stunts and upon relapsing told her I had come off them. Worst mistake as I have now been alone in this for over a year.

However…… I am currently on day 6 free!!!! I had my last dose on Friday (3boxes of co-codamol cold water extraction so no paracetamol but around 700mg codiene) and haven’t had any since.

So the first day wasn’t too bad, second and third were HELL ON EARTH not gonna lie it was awful. Sweats, and can’t sleep on a night due to pains in knees and elbows making me randomly twitch quite violently. I “slept” on the sofa these 2 nights and the 4th was similar to the first, not a great deal of sleep but better. Dreams were wierd. The last two nights have much much better and I finally don’t want to go and get any so cravings have gone and just last legs of the withdrawal symptoms.

It is possible, I wouldn’t recommend taper as your always focusing on that next hit (or at least I was) cold turkey with the kids in mind was how I have got this far. Every time I wanted a hit I just thought, I don’t want to go through this withdrawal again and if I do…. It will kill me. I know that may seem extreme but in the end it’s true. Im also aware everyone is different and needs to do this their own way, I just hope this helps anyone by the way of a little courage and hope. It Is Possible!!!!!

Now onto stopping smoking tomorrow and finally cut the ganja out on Monday haha peace and love everyone!! ????????✌️
