My daughter is 27 years old. She has been taken drugs on and off since the age of 14. I send her to live with her dad to get away from the people. But she started again at his place, meeting the same type of people again. When she got pregnant she stopped for 5 years. Than she met the wrong man and started again. Just worse this time. He introduced her to the drugs she normally would never take. She was obsessed with him. I talked to the father of the child and we decided to involve Social service for my Grandson to live with him. Now my daughter will live with me to get away from her drug using friends. But we live quite a distance away from her child. She is heartbroken to leave him behind, but she knows it is the only way for her for now. When she had therapy and is clean, is there a chance for her to get the child back. She used to be the best mother in the world until she met this man. she finished with him. My grandson was very close to her. She won’t be able to visit him very often. but she wants her child back at one point. He is the only person who gets her going. She don’t know that I was the one who got her son taken away from her. And it breaks my heart to see my daughter suffering this way, but I done the right thing for my Grandchild, but I like her to get him back at some point.

      Hi Birgit,
Thank you for sharing your story. You sound like a very strong person and I’m sure that you did the right thing for your grandson. It’s really sad about your daughter. I hope that one day she will be able to look after her son again.
