- Don’t really know where to start or what I should say.. but I would be very grateful for any advice.. so thank you.. my brother is in his late 30s and has always dabbled in drink and drugs since he was 15ish.. he’s always had binges but in the last six months he’s stopped speaking to family, friends, his marriage has ended, lost his job his/own company.. been arrested, taken out loans, crash his car.. then after being arrested made contact with me txting then asked if he could borrow money as his mortgage and car payment was due and he’d pay back once he was back on feet cause he was starting a new job.. since lending him money he’s stopped responding to txts again.. do we let him loose his home/car.. but I don’t want to feed habit but i also don’t want him to lose everything.. I don’t believe what he says! How do I help him see he has a problem? How do I help?
