My daughter is an alcoholic, probably too much for many years but excessively for a year, she’s 25 and has a partner and 2 young children, she is a all or nothing drinker, has had 3 hospital detoxes, and numerous home detoxes, but convinces herself she doesn’t need help and can do this on her own, managing a week or two clean, then secretly starts till it’s out of control again, always says she will do anything that will help but doesn’t engage with anyone professional, she’s just detoxes herself at home although she was told how dangerous it could be after 5 days of vomiting and not eating I took her to hospital, 3 days in on a drip she’s home feeling positive about not drinking and her future but can she really do this without help? Will group help her? She won’t accept any therapy/ counselling, I’m really scared as we’ve been here before and I’m so tired I don’t want to lose her
