Hi! I have been with a guy for 3 and a.half years. He was a heavy alcoholic when we started seeing each other(I was not aware of how bad it was because we were long distance). He got a DUI and spent a couple nights in jail. Before he could have his court date, he received a 2nd DUI in less than a month. We broke up for a short time but I took him back because he went to rehab and told me I was the only woman that he ever wanted to be sober for and he wanted to do it for us. And I didn’t want to turn my back on him.he moved in with me several months after rehab. He stayed sober for over 2 years and everything was great. He relapsed in December. He was hiding whiskey in his chest of drawers.we had a confrontation and he admitted he was drinking and poured it all out. I don’t think he has never stopped.i came home one evening late from work and he was home with my teenage kids and was drunk. When I confronted him, he turned it all around on me and told me how horrible I am to deal with.i made him leave (the next day of course) for a few days. Me and the kids decided to give him another chance with conditions to which he agreed to and he came home.now he comes home every day after work and I smell the alcohol on his breath. He doesn’t act just extremely drunk but enough to where his mouth runs a whole lot.hes just obnoxious. He sleeps different when he’s drinking..but he swears he’s not drinking and makes me feel like I’m crazy. I have become really short and bitchy with him.because im.so stressed every day wondering what he’s gonna come home acting like. I feel.so hopeless.i don’t want to turn my back on him but when is enough enough? I have no proof he’s drinking.but at this point, I feel like its not on me to prove it.its up to him to show me he’s not.when I try to talk to him.about it, he denies and thats it.no more discussion and the same behavior the next day. Is this common? I’m questioning myself..he makes me feel crazy. Any advice or similar experiences?
