Hi there,
When me and my now fiancé first met he was coming off of the methadone program and was to my knowledge sober.
He was in a minor motorcycle accident where he fell off and was prescribed pain meds.
For the past few years he has been addicted to cocaine and pain killers,
He is very successful so buying theses drugs doesn’t affect him at all financially so there isn’t anything really holding him back.
My father was and is a drug addict – I had a severely traumatic childhood and I feel like being with my partner who is also an addict is preventing me being who I am.
I’m at a loss, I feel so hopeless about this and feel like our relationship is doomed.
He is now in the methadone program again but still uses cocaine
He’s telling me he’s going to try to get better and wants to start speaking to a therapist.
The methadone has lowered his libido to 0 and we haven’t been being intimate which is making me feel even lonelier
Sometimes I imagine my life with someone else and wonder what it would be like.
