Is it just me or does anyone else hate these Christmas days when your living with a drinker or drug taker ?? I just want it to be over it’s hard enough throughout the year but Christmas Day and Boxing Day everyone is expected to be getting merry but it’s no fun if your living with someone who abuses alcohol and drugs !!!

Especially with so many friends and relatives coming to stay. You don’t want to upset the atmosphere with noisy arguments.

Yeah feel like I am walking on egg shells haven’t slept properly for days counting hours till it’s all over ! Not like you see on the happy Christmas adverts !!

I suspect it’s a long haul and nothing short & sweet.

The answer lies outside of me and totally with her and her actions. That’s what’s creating this powerless state for me.

Keeping strong, determined and optimistic is one of the hardest things at the moment

I agree.. Christmas was like this for me, the awkward silences when people offer drinks etc. Its so draining.
