My 16 year old son is affected by drug & alcohol recently. He is Absolutely out of my control, doesn’t listen to me at all, does what ever he wants, stays out whenever and wherever he wants, i have no control of him. I am a single mum feeling Absolutely helpless, don’t know what to do i am loosing him. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Ashi, I’m a single mum to a wonderful 16 year old. Two weeks ago today I found out he was taking drugs, everything has gone downhill since. Yesterday he was suspended from college for taking them on college grounds. Like yourself I just can’t lose my son to this. My head is exploding through fear of the unknown, where will this end. I can only see the negatives. My son.says he enjoys his life ect. I’ve phoned local helplines on youth drug abuse, I’ve got him a meeting with a youth drug counsellor, I took him to the doctors to make sure medically he’s ok and also to make him tell a person of authority what he’s been doing. I no longer give him money, and take everything he says with a pinch of salt. It’s awful, rips my heart to bits that I don’t know the boy in front of me any more. I hope with everything inside me your boy gets through this. And you have support helping you through this. Take care x
