Drug addiction is a disease.
Those experiencing it should have treatment.
Despite my son having for 23 years overcoming an addiction in youth.When he became ill through arthritis he began again to use drugs to be as he said to be normal. The county we live in was inadequate-Evan though countless times help was sought the eventual happened and he died.
As a mother in grief I have to say after six years of struggling with his health problems of having constant pain through arthritis the temptation for relief was too much for him. What isnt recognised is that people with an addiction are ill and whilst under the phychosis of the drug or alcohol of their choice they are unable to fight or get out of it. The inevitable happens. I asked repeatably for help but didnt receive it! Life is cheap!? As a family we are left to pick up the pieces!
