Before i met my partner he admitted he was a recovering heroin addict, in fact he was clean for over 4 years hes only 40 but suffered a difficult childhood sexual abuse loss of his mum and his dad passed away a few years ago

But for 2 years now he has become dependent on codeine hes on a zapain prescription from.the doctor 100 a month but goes through these in less than a week after this is goes to different pharmices and takes up to 64 nurofen plus a day i only found out a few weeks ago after he broke down and said he cant do this anymore

Well last week he tried to stop and went from 64 to zero he took nothing for 36 hours and said the withdrawal was so bad he just couldn’t do it so we were back to square one

This week he is having another go Tuesday he took 66

Yesterday he took 54

Today he is aiming for 32

And tommrow hes aiming for 24 and the next day 16 when he gets to 2 a day his hope that the withdrawal will be a lot easier

I need some advice is this plan likely to work? What next if it dont im sorry this is so long i dont know what to do i hate seeing him like this
