As i write this my son has entered rehab.

for once i can put my pajamas on tonight knowing that i wont get a phone call asking for a lift / money /food..

The end of the line came just after christmas after spending all of his xmas money and some of mine on Cocaine. Totally ruined the holiday for me, i was a wreck.

i know now he is safe and hopefully can now get the help and support he needs and that i couldnt give him.

i blame myself a bit as i am way too soft and i give him money just to get him off my back which i know is wrong.

i just hope this works because i dont know what will happen if not.

What a relief for you, but at the same time such a difficult decision to make. I really feel for you.

I hope and pray that your son gets the support and help that he needs. I’ve read quite a few success stories on here , so it can be done.

I totally understand, we do our best but I guess we enable them and its never-ending.

My son has alcohol and cocaine addictions, currently doing well thankfully but I know how quickly things can spiral out of control!

Time to take care of you now.

Hi Oldbird,

Enjoy the peace and quiet for the next few weeks, it will make you feel so much better not having to worry about your Son.

My Son went to Rehab, and quite honestly it was like a weight being lifted off my shoulders, and my bank account also looked a bit more healthy too.

Don’t blame yourself, I was exactly the same as you, they make you like this, and sometimes it was the easier option.

OMG yes my bank account has money in it this week ! i do feel relieved but anxious of what happens after he comes home.

I know i shouldnt think about that yet and take each day now at a time just like he is doing.

Can i ask, did this stop your sons drug use x
