      Hi everyone

Hope you’re OK. Would like to be e-meeting under different circumstances but there we are !!

My sister, 45 today (16th June 2018), was drink / drug dependent throughout her teens, 20s and most of her 30s. Hellish times for us all.

She was sober / clean for about 8 years until a few weeks ago when she stepped (rather than fell) off the wagon.

My sister lives with my parents. She was in a relationship. She’s got (had?) a steady job, loads of friends and lots of hobbies.

She stepped off the wagon a few weeks ago. She’s now back drinking (and likely drugs), living with a random chap who she barely knows.

It’s destroyed our parents. My mother, who used to worry whether her daughter (my sister) was dead or alive most of the time, has hardened up and is increasingly disowning her. My dad has threatened suicide because of it (and because of his own health problems).

My fiancee and I are expecting our first baby together :). She already has two children. My fiancee has already questioned whether baby was the trigger for my sister’s behaviour: She doesn’t have children. Maybe she always wanted them? The last thing I want is for my fiancee to be worrying like this….

Not sure why I’m writing this. Guess to just share experiences and to offer an ear to bend.

      Hope everyone’s OK.

      Best wishes

      N x
