Long story short, an alcoholic friend has been in recovery for just over a year now and had been doing very very well. no boozing, back to work full time etc etc. However, between myself and some other friends, we now know of around 3-5 times where this person has relapsed.

The recovering person has been open about 2 of these instances but we fear the drinking is escalating again.

I am looking for some advice around how to confront them. Confront is too strong of a word as we only want to help but have little to no experience with this sort of thing.

We moved them back in with their parents a year ago who have been amazing and kept a very close eye on him. However, we do not want to go to them without evidence of the rising drinking and put them under even more stress.

we feel the drinking is a symptom of underlying mental health issues and again, we’re just looking for some guidance as to the ‘best’ avenue to take to help

      Thanks
