My brother is 42 years old and has been into drugs most of his adult life. The main problem is cocaine and crack cocaine and over the last few years has got so much worse that our family is at breaking point! He no longer lives with our mother as he is aggressive and angry so much so that he’s had some time in prison recently. He has come out of prison with nothing but but still chooses to put drugs above everything else. He has no where to sleep and no job and our mum as put him up in a bed and breakfast again as she cannot face having him under her roof for the thought that he may steal off her or get aggressive again. I just don’t know what to do to help. He’s a lovely person when he hasn’t been taking anything but just awful when he has… I do t know how long we can all live like this!

I’m a very private person and to write on here is really quite something for me. I just don’t know where to to turn to and I guess I just want someone to understand but it’s my nearly 69 year old mother that takes most of the crap but we are all effected. How do we help him when he doesn’t want to help himself!?

Do we just let him hit rock bottom? It’s so hard to see him like this!
