My al oholic husband is getting worse. He has been sacked from two jobs this year for not turning up due to being drunk and is getting verbally nasty and going awol. Yesterday he went awol but came home after a few hours wuth his head bleeding and a bleeding leg after falling over.

Of his own violition he rang the doctors to ask for help. The doctor basically said he would refer him to the drug and alcohol counselling service, but it would be a long time before he got an appt. For my husband, who needs help now, this just made him feel as if there is no help out there.

We live in a very isolated area and there are no aa meetings within an hours drive

      Where can we go?

      Hi EloiseT,

Welcome to the Forum, it’s a very good place to share your story and to be able to chat with others in a similar situation.

There are on line zoom meetings for AA, loads of people use this, you don’t have to say anything until you feel able too, but listening to others could help your Husband.

      Take care.

      Dx
