Thank you so much Addicted! Your messages really are helping.. you’ve done amazingly well and I agree with work keeping you busy! I just need to get over the fear and do it! Focus on the feeling of not relying on something to get me through the day.. the freedom of being free from codeine! Here’s to another day and another attempt.. Hiya, I have failed miserably again today.. I’ve taken the same amount as I took yesterday so no reduction! I have built up this fear of the withdrawals and the first sign of them, makes me run to the nearest chemist… please can you give me any advise on how I can overcome this fear and just do it!! Massive respect to you for finding the strength to do this whilst working. I have taken time off to detox in the past but end up straight back on them as soon as I return to work.. I need to find a way of overcoming the fear of working whilst going through withdrawals! Sorry for the negative rant.. I hope you’re doing ok today.. keep me updated
I just wanted to add that knowing you are going through this and still going to work, is really helping me knowing I have to do the same.. so thank you for sharing

Hi Addicted.. I’ve taken 8 less than I would normally take, so am trying to see it as a positive! I won’t take anymore today and tomorrow I will try and fight the argument in my head telling me it’s ok to buy some!! It’s hard not to self loathe when you’re hooked on this poison! How are you doing so far? I have tried many times to stop and successfully stopped for 4 years with the help of another forum.. Talking to others in the same boat really helped me last time, so here’s hoping that the same will happen from joining this forum! I’ve tried other support but this is the only thing that helped me before! Do you mind if I ask what dosage you were taking? Don’t feel you have to share that because let’s face it, any amount is too much!! Take care for now x

Hi Addicted, massive well done to you for doing what you are doing and sharing this with us! Today was day one for me too but I e already bought and taken some.. reading other stories really does help me, so please keep us updated and share your ups and downs as much as you feel you want to… tomorrow is another day and another attempt for me..
