Hi Dee
Watching our loved ones slowly walking down a road of self destruction is the most painful, guilt wracking and helpless places to be, you need some support too, get in touch with your local drug agency they may well have a group or a counsellor you can speak too, sometimes reaching out for help can be scary because its like admitting there really is a problem (we are quite good at being strong) but it can provide you with the extra strength to carry on, one day at a time. I hope you are ok? Please talk to someone you trust, a friend or relative, turn up at a Al-anon meeting you can find them online, anything, but don’t do this alone you need support and help, the domestic abuse site can help you make some hard decisions and will go at your pace. Please try to keep yourself safe, you are worthy of a happy life. Xhope-heartParticipantHi Amy
You have been amazing, but you must remember to keep yourself well and safe, guess what? you count too! Get the right support for yourself and encourage your loved one toward recovery and do not engage in his addictive behaviour but above all you are not to blame you didn’t cause his addiction and unfortunately are unable to cure him. Check if there are any support groups near you, you may feel scared to attend but you cannot beat the relief of talking to others who truly understand. All the best x -
