I haven’t written in here for a while but my daughters dad has just died and we were each other’s support, my daughter is often asking me for Money and then shouting abuse if I don’t give it (I never do now) she will phone me at night saying nasty things I now turn my phone off, I know she is on coke at the least and she is schizophrenic and the drugs mess with her meds, for the last 12 years it’s been daily stress in and out of psych hospitals I just feel constantly sad ????, this helps just to vent on here, I feel for all of you this isn’t what we signed up for when we had our beautiful children

      Hi m82,

Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I can’t imagine what you’re going through, and to have to deal with your daughter’s addiction too.

Is there a family member or a close friend you can confide in?

I think Drugfam and Icarus trust offer counselling services and Adfam homepage too.

My 29yr son has alcohol and cocaine addictions so I have an idea what you’re going through.

He currently 1yr clean thankfully, every day is a battle, but the AA and CA groups are so supportive.

Please look after yourself, read some of the posts on the Theresa thread, all mums with loved ones with addictions (mostly sons)

Take care, look after yourself ❤️

      Lx

        Hi Lindyloo

Thanks for your support o think some counselling would be a great idea I will look these up, I have close friends family and boyfriend so do have support but no one who understands what it’s like apart from the people on here! It’s a lonely place when your daughter keeps phoning and moods up and down you don’t know which your going to get, I’m so glad your son is a year clean, my daughter lives in a hostel type place the only place o could find which would house her with her schizophrenia and drug issues, she was such a talented beautiful young lady until her illness then drugs took hold, I have read the thread you mentioned and that’s been very helpful to know I’m not alone

        Thank you take care

        M x
