I live with an alcoholic and ex drug addict. He was often violent when he couldn’t get drugs and my life has often been hell. He is now a dying alcoholic with liver failure and copd to add to his problems. I still love him and am his carer but am findind it very hard to cope with the emotional turmoil of it all. I don’t really know where to turn to or who to ask for help from as I have lived with the secrecy of his life for so long. Doctors are really good with him but I am really struggling. I am constantly being told he hasn’t long to live but this has been going on for years. I can’t give up on him but I don’t know how much longer I can take the strain of it all. I have tried helplines but they just refer me to others. Any help would be appreciated
