My son is addicted to cocaine, I’m trying to help but he’s just out of control. He’s racked up thousands of £’s if debt and is asking me to be guarantor to his loans to help him out of the terrible situation he got himself in. I am refusing to be guarantor I can’t keep bailing him out financially, even when I do he just goes straight back to it, he doesn’t seem to care. I have asked him to stay home and I will try and help him through his cravings, but he goes out straight from work. to be honest I don’t think he really wants to stop he just wants me to bail him out all of the time

Hi joanne. 1st of dont be a guarantor. Do you really need the stress if he does not pay. And secondly he really does need to want to quit. Otherwise its pointless. alcohol is a main trigger for coke , so if hes going pub after work he will be getting coke maybe.

Id have a word with him and lay some ground rules. And make him aware of the drug. Id could give you advice on how to stop but there is no point just yet, if he does not want to. Feel free to ask me anything.

I think that’s the point I’m worrying and panicking and he really doesn’t want to stop yet, I guess I have to wait for him to really want to stop (he says he does, but doesn’t make any actions to evidence that he does) then try and help him when he wants it. It’s just so hard siting back when I can see all the problems he’s getting himself into.

Well if he does.. he needs to delete everyone out his phone book to do with coke. Even family.

Stay away from alcohol. Pubs , clubs. Trigger points were hes used drugs and picked drugs up from. Get friends who dont use.. and stay in for a while to sort him self out. Thats just a little bit he needs to do really. Its a horrible drug. And i wish i never had it. Good luck
