Please be strong, appreciate what you have around you, do some sport, go out and breathe. I come here to find answers and support because my boyfriend is a chronic drug user and alcoholic. He nearly killed me few days ago, and he doesn’t even remember what he did to me (according to him), now I have bruises everywhere, especially on my eyelid I could only lock myself in my apartment. He’s all alone in the world with his abusive parents passed away and indifferent siblings in dispute of heritage issues. My mental state is not always stable as my father almost killed me 10 years ago (I’m from Asian culture so daughters are just like trash), I was in depression and on medication, then I started swimming, doing yoga, then I was back to normal life. My bf’s violence triggered my depression, I keep a distance with him these days, but I still worry about him, I really don’t know what I could do for him. It hurts so much to see someone you love trapped in addiction, feeling I’m clueless and powerless to do anything for him, and now I even need to be careful of my personal safety. Remember you have a supportive family and boyfriend around you, there are ppl who don’t have such luck, sinking in the gutter. Yoga helped me a lot, when I looked myself in the mirror making little tiny progress after continuous practice, I find confidence in myself little by little.
