Thanks Dan, I have read through some of your posts and I really appreciate the advice from the other side I guess. He does the same as you, once a month.. he doesnt think its a problem as such, he said its an anxiety release from a build up. He is going to support groups and his counselling starts this month – did the counselling help you? what counselling do you do? it sounds similar to what youre going through with your GF at the moment, I have told him I will leave him, he cant help it either I dont think, its so hard to understand when youre not addicted to anything yourself – I havent even been addicted to a cigarette before so its hard to relate.. I feel so helpless I cant see no end, my anxiety and trust issues around this are beginning to worry me
georgia26ParticipantI had this before when I took it – it will subside, youll need to ride it out for now. The stuff causes such long term anxiety its not worth it. I never had anxiety until I took drugs.
georgia26ParticipantI feel so sad for you reading your post – it must be absolutely heartbreaking for you. I am in a less worse position I guess, what started in the casual drinking for my boyfriend turned into a habit, the drinking habit was recognised and he does go to support groups and relapses every 4 ish weeks, when he does relapse he couldnt give a damn about me or anyone, just himself. Hes started doing cocaine as soon as he drinks too, he definitely has a problem and relapses and then has mental issues after, which is so hard for me to deal with. Until your husband admits he has an issue i think this problem will escalate. Its so so sad and such a difficult situation to be in, sending lots of love to you and strength to get through this, its so utterly horrendous xxxxx
georgia26Participantremove yourself from situations – do not drink if its going to influence you to take drugs, dont go into pubs, go to support groups.. my boyfriend is doing to same – although hes stopped now, he doesnt go into pubs etc.. good luck truly xxx
georgia26Participantuntil he admits he has issues and is willing to help himself i dont think this will work – he needs to speak to a doctor because he is self medicating.
I truly hope you find a way and he gets the help he needs, he needs to see a doctor asap. xx
