Hi everyone I have my last ‘dose’ of cocodamol to take now. Doctors have stopped my prescription and I am in no financial position to afford the 30/500 cocodamol online it’s over £50! I’ve been and bought loperamide ready for the diarrhoea and night nurse to help me sleep on the nights. Anyone else reccomend anything that will help the withdrawals?? Dreading the fatigue and body aching tbh x
harley10ParticipantHi I am 24 and have been taking cocodamol 30/500 for about 2 years. I take around 10 tablets a day. I have built up such a high tolerance to them that I have to take 5 at a time to get any sort of affect from them. I am so embarrassed about this addiction. Sometimes I laugh it off and joke “oh yeah I’m addicted to them” but really I am. My partner knows I am but we dont get on that great and he struggles to understand.
Anyway I’ve just had the doctors ringing me to say I’m requesting them too often and I shouldn’t be taking them so they are cutting me down to lower strength cocodamol. He said the same as you can buy so I’d imagine 8/500.
I’ve gone cold Turkey for a few days before and the loose bowels were so bad I had stomach cramps that were so intense, felt agitated and snappy, couldn’t sleep etc. But I KNOW I’ve got to do this, I dont want to live my life addicted to these pills that are just going to make me ill. I’ve decided after I’ve finished the pills I’ve got I’m going to go cold Turkey. I cant taper as I couldn’t trust myself to stick to it. I’m going to stock up on immodium, nytol and lempsip as previous poster said, I’ve still got a few days worth left of pills but I know this has to be done. I have a daughter too who needs me! and work 4 days per week. Reading positive posts have really helped me. Any one who wants to go talk feel free x
