I think it might help you to speak to your doctor about what you have read. I’m sure that they would be able to help you.This is very hard for you isn’t it! Sadly there are many people who are in a similar position to yourselves. If you would like to talk to someone who has experience of what you are going through The Icarus Trust is a charity which supports people, like yourself, who have been affected by a loved one’s addiction. We could offer you our ‘Family Friends’ service. These are trained volunteers who have had lots of experience with what you are going through. It may help you to talk through with one of them how you are feeling. It is a free service.

I am glad that you have got some support for your children but maybe you could do with some for yourself? It must be heart breaking for you after all you have done to try and help your partner. I really would like you to suggest that you get some support for yourself now. Sadly loads of people go through the same as you and its really hard, but there is support for people that have been affected by another person’s addiction.
