Hi
If they have been on the BuTrans patch for a a while then no it won’t be an emergency. Buprenorphine blocks most other opiates (trust me I know 1st hand 😉 )
so 5mg of Oxy is nothing and they will be fine.

xavierParticipantHi codeine girl,
like you I struggled with codeine addiction for many many year, well all opiate prescription painkillers really.
I could not get off them no matter how hard I tried.
Do yo have any local drug services near you ? Like CGL for example ? If so ring them and talk to them they may be able to help you.
I was reluctant to speak to them at first, as I felt disgusted and embarassed, but they really helped me out and put me on Bupenorphine and it really changed my life.
They don’t put you on it immediately though, you have to have a couple of meetings with their doctor and then they tell you not to take any opiates for 48hrs and then you go to your local chemist and take the Bupenorphine. At first you will also have to do daily pickups but after a month or two you switch to weekly pick ups.
It really helped me out and I was glad I reached out. My local GP wouldnt touch me with a barge pole so that was my only hope and it paid off.
Give them a call and take care!
